Social media can be a cold, cold place.

Algorithms are built to maximize engagement, so they tend to amplify negative content, the kind that creates arguments and drives views by appealing to our worst instincts.

So how do you help users break out of the internet's cold and negative grip? By warming up their algorithms, just like Uniqlo's HEATTECH technology warms up your body.

HOW IT WORKED (TECHNICALLY)

Tiktok is really good at finding out what you like. It does this by learning the key themes or topics of the videos that you watch the longest or engage with the most. If you intentionally watch and engage with a cluster of videos around a certain topic you can teach the algorithm to serve you more of that content.

So we created a #warmyourfeed TikTok playlist with 9 modules that were tagged, captioned and with VO using warm and positive keywords (i.e. warmth, kindness, love, joy, happy, nice, friendly, cozy) to help train, manipulate and change people's algorithms.
